A metal band poster for a theoretical band, Cathedral. The emphasis of this piece was to showcase digital painting, and the use of value.
The intended ‘vibe’ of the band Cathedral was an alternate way to view worship, the way one would worship god at a Cathedral.
In this illustration, there is no use of color, instead there is an emphasis on value. To draw the viewers eye to the figure and the heart, I use a full range of value, while employing a limited set of midtones for parts of less importance.
